About Us

Founded in 2000, Cuyamaca Rancho Foundation provides a mechanism by which funds are raised, acquisitions made, and property transferred to the Department of Parks and Recreation, California State Parks. There is no other organization that works to acquire property for Cuyamaca Rancho and Palomar Mountain State Park.

Cuyamaca Rancho Foundation is an independent 501 (c) (3) organization committed to looking for parkland growth opportunities to pass down to future generations. Land acquisitions are made possible through the generous support of private and public money.

Cuyamaca Rancho Foundation’s land acquisition priorities are determined with assistance from park staff and incorporated into an acquisition plan. Cuyamaca Rancho Foundation works with property owners interested in selling and can facilitate sensitive acquisitions such as gifts, bequests and deferred giving.

Why Do We Need to Add Property to our State Park?

With development inevitable and the area becoming more populated we have learned that it is important to protect and preserve open space land for public enjoyment.  Over time, natural places will disappear if no action is taken to acquire, protect and preserve them.  Preservation is not only for the animals, plant species and cultural resources.   It is essential that we act as stewards to expand our precious Cuyamaca Rancho and Palomar Mountain State Park lands.

Cuyamaca Rancho Foundation Future depends on the interest and dedication of community members.  Cuyamaca Rancho Foundation has a vision and plan to focus primarily on land acquisition.  Through good relations and partnerships CRF can continue to provide the energy and effort needed to carry out our goals.
